On 18 January 2024, H.E. M.R.K. Lenagala, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Austria and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Vilawan Mangklatanakul at the Thai Residence. Both sides exchanged views on the UN related matters as well as the cooperation between the two missions, especially the plan to jointly organise the annual celebration of International Vesak Day in 2024 at the UN Office in Vienna.
