Ambassador Presented the Tipitaka to Santikaram Forest Temple, Slovak Republic

On 24 September 2026 Ambassador Pattarat Hongtong represented the Chulalongkorn University Engineering Alumni Class of 1967 in presenting a 36-volume set of the Tipitaka in English, along with a dedicated Tipitaka bookcase, to Santikaram Forest Temple in Stránske, Slovak Republic.

On this occasion, Buddhists and devotees from the local community as well as from Thailand gathered for a Robe-offering (Pha Pa) ceremony, presenting donations and offerings to support the temple’s operations and promote Buddhism in the region.

Founded in 2022, Santikaram Forest Temple operates under the Santikaram Association Slovakia as a meditation center and hub for Theravada Buddhism. The temple emphasizes mindfulness, meditation, and a simple lifestyle aligned with nature. It was established and is currently led by Abbot Venerable Santi Santikaro Thera, a Slovak monk who was ordained and spent over 15 years studying and practicing Dhamma in Myanmar and at Wat Thung Pho in Buri Ram Province, Thailand.
