Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi chaired a meeting of the Honorary Consular Officers of Thailand in Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia
On 2 September 2020, Ambassador Morakot Sriswasdi chaired a meeting of the Honorary Consular Officers of Thailand working under jurisdiction of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vienna, comprising of Royal Thai Honorary Consulates in Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Participants at the meeting exchanged information and views on wide-ranging issues, including the situation of COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand and the Royal Thai Government’s measures, the entry into force of the Regulation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Governing the Appointment and Functions of Honorary Consular Officers of the Kingdom of Thailand B.E. 2563 (2020), as well as key policies of the Government which will guide future work plan between the Embassy and the Honorary Consulates.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Sriswasdi hosted a luncheon to express the Embassy’s sincere thanks and deep appreciation to all Honorary Consular Officers for their dedication and commitment in performing of their noble functions to strengthen the bilateral relations with Thailand, to promote Thailand’s interests, and to protect Thai nationals living in their consular areas, in particular during the past several months of COVID-19 outbreak.
Honorary Consulates under the Embassy’s jurisdiction are the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Bratislava, the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General in Ljubljana, Royal Thai Consulate in Salzburg, Royal Thai Consulate in Innsbruck, and Royal Thai Consulate in Dornbirn.
